![]() ![]() I knew there was a party going on and I picked that side of the hotel. I am not going to complain about the noise from the pool. One of the worst nights I've had in a hotel in a long time. The next morning about 7a they woke me up again leaving. Finally after about getting woken up for about the 5th time I was gonna call the front desk (or the cops really) I heard a security guard banging on the room next door. The level of noise and drunkedness did not thing but increase steadily, both from the pool area and the room next door all night long. I could hear everything and mean EVERYTHING going on in the hallway and in the room next door. My room was right in front of the elevator and the soundproofing in this hotel is some of the worst I've ever experienced. ![]() People were pouring into the hotel, the room next door to mine (1206) started up a heck of a party about 8p. I went back to the room and everything just went downhill from there. This wasn't even like a young urban professional vibe, this was like college frat house vibe. I'm easily twice the age of EVERYONE there. My first clue that something was amiss was the young people, I'm talking teens and early 20s, rolling into the hotel with luggage carts stocked full of booze and party supplies. Saturday we roll back into the hotel about 6p. Back in the room I could hear the beat of the music a little bit but nothing too bad. Maybe 20 people around but I overhead the staff complaining about how slow it was and wondering where was everyone. They cranked up some EDM like dance music Friday night, thought it was a little loud for a bar area but nothing too bad. They had a good drink selection and super friendly and helpful staff. If we had stayed Friday night and checked out Saturday I would have given this place 5 stars. It wasn't the right decision on my part so that one is on me. ![]() I chose the pool side on the top floor thinking it wouldn't be that loud. We even talked about the pros and cons of pool side versus city side rooms. I had to sign an acknowledgement of that, with various party rules, etc. When I checked in the front desk clerk advised me that on Saturday they were going to have live music/DJ in the pool. My colleague and I were there for business. Its a good location, it is stylish and has personality, it has a bar, and a restaurant, and a large pool area. To add insult to injury, I was rudely questioned by the valet upon check out as to why we had so much luggage - sorry for the inconvenience! We will not return.Lets be clear, I wanted to like this hotel, I do like this hotel. When I was 19, this might have been ok, but we need our sleep, and this seemed beyond ridiculous for a hotel to have rooms where your bed vibrates with loud bass from the hotel bar until all hours of the night. Once we were placed in a room, we were kept awake until well after 1:00 am with our room vibrating from the club somewhere below us in the hotel. The first room that we were placed in smelled so terribly of sewage that we could not sleep there. We were offered a discount on our room to make up for the inconvenience, but at check-out, there was no discount that I could see on our bill, and when I questioned it, I was shrugged off by the clerk at the desk. Our reservation for connecting rooms for our family was not honored, and front desk staff suggested to me that this mistake was not their problem. There is potential there for this hotel to be good, but sadly, it falls short. Some patrons just want to hang out on the patio, have a few drinks, and catch up with family and friends instead of screaming over music. They need to decide if they are a hotel or a night club. Someone else in our party had a room closer to the pool and said he couldn't fall asleep due to the noise. We couldn't even hear each other talking at the table near the pool. (Restaurant staff downstairs was phenomenal and offered to bring a dessert order up to the pool.) The music was insanely loud in the evening. Servers were hit and miss they were either completely on top of things, or slow and forgetful which caused some in our large party to be without food or drinks for quite some time. Cons: 5th floor staff was mixed manager (we assume that was her position) was unwelcoming to families with children (even though we are huge tippers), but the bartenders were great. Pros: awesome pool and the front office staff was very polite. We stayed here for two nights and had a very mixed experience. ![]()
